Our research to this point has traced the Ballek name back to
Jan(John)Ballek who was born in 1763. We know our families descended from Stefan, but we suspect that he had other children that we do not know about. So our search to connect all the Ballek's and Balleck's continues |

Jozef Ballek, son of Stefan Ballek and Terezia Dominak Ballek, was married three (3) times.
The FIRST MARRIAGE to Maria Dulkova produced five (5) children: Three survived to adulthood. The SECOND MARRIAGE to Johanna Sivoncik produced eight (8) children: Four survived to adulthood. The THIRD MARRIAGE to Terezia Butusiak produced four (4) children: Three survived to adulthood. So Jozef was the father of seventeen (17) children, but only ten (10) survived to adulthood. Two died in their teens, and four died in their 20's. The chance of surviving to an old age in what was then called the Austrian/Hungarian Empire, and now is know as the Republic of Slovakia were not good. Information on descendants from these three marriages is available here. If viewers of this site note any errors, or have any additions, please contact me at jnaballek@yahoo.com. Thanks |
