Jozef Ballek & Magdallen Woijtinski
Joseph (Jozef) arrived in America in March of 1912. He had been smuggled out of Austria/Hungary after having been taken at night into the Tetra Mountains. There he was met by an agent who took him over the border into Poland for his clandestine trip to America. He married Magdallen in Joliet, Ill in Aug of 1916, and they made their home in Sheridan, Wyoming. He worked on the railroad, in the coal mines, and during the summers ran a truck garden selling produce to local merchants. Life was not easy but they managed to raise six children, own a farm, and live to see nineteen grandchildren, and seven great granchildren
