Although the first written document stating the existence of the parish was in 1397, art historians are setting the origin of the wooden chapel to the first half of the 15th century.

The interior of the chapel was recreated in the mid 17th century.
Many paintings are dated from the 1650's.

It was again professionally restored between the years 1899 and 1927.

Tvrdosin
the village consists of the previous neighboring villages of Krasna Horka and Medvedzie. The surround area has hills and highlands, and is 556 meters above sea level. It is mentioned in a document dated 11 Aug 1265 by Bela IV. In modern times, during W2 the village experienced hard times especially 1944-45 when insurgent troops fought the German army, and again in March 1945 when the area was liberated by the Russian army.
